OUR MOTO AND INSPIRATION

The congregation of the Ursulines of Mary Immaculate was founded by Bl. Mother Brigida Morello of Jesus in 1649 in Piacenza, in Italy. It has spread its roots in the countries of Europe, Asia Latin America and Africa. The first batch of five Italian Pioneers set foot on Indian Soil in November 1934. Over the years the congregation has spread to the four corners of this vast country.

Receiving from the Lord Jesus and Bl. Mother Brigida Morello, the mandate of perfect love of God and neighbor expressed in serving God’s people, the Ursuline sisters engage themselves according to the need of the time in various apostolate such as Education, Healing, Care of senior citizens, Orphanages and other fields of Social and humanitarian work.

Mother Brigida Morello founded her congregation mainly to impart a sound, spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical education based on the Gospel values of truth and social justice, universal love and brotherhood, global peace and forgiveness, to prepare the young people to be fully human and alive to the needs of the church, the country, and the world at large.
